Making the Intangible Tangible

NASA x Parsons, Brand Strategy Project

Client: International Space Station (ISS), NASA

The International Space Station (ISS) is a state-of-the-art modular space station in low Earth orbit. As the largest and most advanced project, it results from a multinational collaboration between five esteemed space agencies: NASA, Roscosmos, JAXA, ESA, and CSA. This impressive display of international cooperation is a testament to the shared vision of advancing space exploration and the importance of collaboration and innovation on a global scale.

Problem:

Our team had the unique opportunity to collaborate with NASA's International Space Station (ISS) team on an exciting challenge: how to effectively communicate the ISS's value to the public and engage them in space exploration initiatives.

Research:

Through close collaboration with key stakeholders and extensive research, we crafted a compelling brand identity that bridges the gap between Earth and space.

Deliverable:

Our presentation of the final proposal to the NASA team, which included Robyn Gatens, the Director of the International Space Station for Space Operations, was met with enthusiasm and excitement. The ISS team recognized the potential impact of our solutions and expressed interest in continuing to work with us in the future. We were particularly pleased to see the immediate practical application of our proposed solutions, such as using social media to connect with the public. Our innovative approach to branding and communication has the potential to enhance the public's understanding and appreciation of the ISS, furthering space exploration initiatives for years to come.
